Tagging SNP genotyping and targeted next-generation sequencing of the katnal gene to investigate a putative genetic association with azoospermia

A mouse katnal1 knockout resulted in male factor infertility due to premature exfoliation of spermatids. However, relevance in the human has not been established. This study employs multiple methods of genetic analysis to investigate whether mutations in human KATNAL1 have a causative role in male infertility.
